From a little girl who attended Sunday School at St. James Lutheran Church, I believed Jesus died for me and that He was The God of Miracles. I received my very first miracle at age 16, and a relentless expectation was formed in me from thereon in. "Expect a Miracle!" has been my lifelong mantra.

God has never disappointed me. I will share some of the extraordinary things God has done for me and in me over the years through this blog.

On Christmas Eve, 1969, the doctors told my father that my mother would not live through the night. She suffered horrifically with Crohn's Disease and at age 45, she only weighed about 60 lbs. She was in the hospital and my father said his goodbyes to her.
Our family tradition was to go to Christmas Eve candlelight service at 11 PM. We went and as we entered the church everyone was crying including the pastor as he stood to open the service. They were crying about my mother. An anger rose up in the inside of me. Everything in me was screaming, "Why don't they believe?!" We left church as people paid their condolences to my father.
The phone was ringing as we entered the house. My father ran ahead to get the phone knowing it was the doctor. He came into the dining room where we all were standing holding our breaths. These were his words (that are forever etched on my heart), "The doctor said this: "I don't know what happened to MaryLou tonight, but she took a turn for the better. She will not die." Mom lived another 3 years until I met my husband-to-be.
I dared to believe that Jesus is Who Scripture says He is. That night the genesis of my faith - beyond a shadow of a doubt - was solidified in my childlike heart, and became the foundation for the remaining years of my life. Some 55 years later, I'm still on the receiving end of God's miraculous Power. All Glory and Honor to Him and His Love, Mercy, and Goodness.
